Global Higher Education (GHE), a small, private Adelaide-based provider, is seeking experienced and dynamic Unit Facilitators to contribute to our masters programs in IT (Security Management) and Master of Business (Analytics). These casual contract roles involve the facilitation of a maximum of 2 units (but in most cases 1) over a six-week period, with a standard 3-hour session delivery (6 hours per unit per week: 36 hours in total).
Core to GHE’s delivery is the application of the Block Model. Candidates with experience in this delivery mode will be highly regarded.
Primary Purpose:
- Facilitate the delivery of units within GHE’s masters course.
- Engage in teaching, marking, moderation, and student support.
- Provide administrative support, including uploading marks and roll-taking.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver an engaging and immersive educational experience using the Block Model:
- Focused, engaging activities that encourage self-directed learning.
- In-depth discussions, collaboration, and immediate feedback.
- Coordinate course activities as required and offer robust student support.
- Contribute to professional development initiatives (updating of skills and knowledge)
Selection Criteria:
- Proven track record of teaching a 'block model' program or a similarly abbreviated teaching and learning model.
- Demonstrated familiarity with relevant teaching methodologies and modes including integration and monitoring of artificial intelligence software (e.g., Copilot, Chat GPT) face-to-face, online, and blended learning environments.
- Relevant industry experience in IT or Business Analytics aligning real-world contexts with academic approaches and models.
- Ability to integrate industry trends and practices into teaching.
- Expertise in designing and implementing assessments that measure student learning outcomes (e.g., in terms of Bloom’s taxonomy, or the SOLO structure).
- Proven proficiency in relevant software and tools used in IT and Business Analytics, such as programming languages, data analysis software, and visualization tools.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills and the ability to convey complex information to diverse student audiences.
- Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work collaboratively in a multicultural academic setting.
- Commitment to fostering an inclusive and supportive learning environment.
- Ability to provide academic advising and mentoring to students.
- Demonstrated engagement in continuous professional development and proven willingness to integrate new teaching practices and technologies.
Experience, Qualifications, and Special Requirements:
- A track record of success in teaching and learning facilitation.
- PhD qualification in relevant or adjunct fields.
- Minimum 5 years of tertiary teaching experience.
- Minimum 3 years of teaching at the master's level (AQF level).
- Minimum master level qualification in IT or Business (with demonstrated balance of industry experience and prior learning):
- Qualifications align closely with relevant course disciplinary parameters.
- Industry experience (and/or certifications) that align with course disciplinary parameters.
- Relevant skills that align with current and discipline-specific industry benchmarks, certifications, or competencies.
Desirable:
Applicants with specialised experience in producing unit content / curriculum will be highly regarded (Additional contracts in unit development may be available to suitably qualified and experienced applicants).

Academic Board Secretary at Global Higher Education
Position: Academic Board Secretary (Part-time: 2 days/week)

Global Higher Education (GHE), a newly formed institution delivering two masters’ degrees in IT-related fields is seeking a dedicated and organized Academic Board Secretary. This role offers the flexibility of an office/work from home structure, making it an ideal position for someone seeking an adaptive working environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Organize and coordinate board meetings, ensuring seamless communication among board members.
- Work closely with the Academic Director to facilitate effective communication and support across the membership and internally at GHE.
- Provide comprehensive administrative support to the Academic Board, including correspondence, preparing agendas, taking minutes, and following up on action items.
- Assist in the governance process by maintaining records and ensuring compliance with institutional policies.
- Assist the Student Support team by providing students with guidance as needed.
- Manage and oversee the small on-site library, aiding students in research projects and maintaining on-site and online library resources.
Qualifications and Skills:
- Previous experience in a similar educational or administrative role, preferably in higher education.
- Strong organizational and multitasking abilities, with excellent attention to detail.
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with proficieny in both written and verbal formats.
- Proficiency in using Microsoft Teams & Office software.
- Ability to work independently while being collaborative and supportive of team goals.
- Familiarity with IT-related fields or library science is advantageous.
Desirable
- Experience using KOHA library cataloguing software
- Experience using Moodle
